Entry requirements

  • Students will need to have an interview prior to enrolling.
  • This course has additional entry requirements if you wish to take advantage of the Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding option for Trade Start.  You must meet all subsidy eligibility.  Please request a CSQ Declaration form from Customer Service to apply for this funding.
  • After enrolment, all applicants must complete a short quiz on Literacy and Numeracy levels using the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) prior to orientation dates or prior to the first day of class.

Occupational Health and Safety is a critical unit in your course. It is normally a prerequisite to all of the units in the qualification and generally completed within your first two weeks of class. You cannot attend any work experience or vocational placement without already holding this unit or completing it in class.

Resources required

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland Gold Coast's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player.

This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Timetable

  • Classes are held from Monday to Wednesday from 8.00am-3.30pm for 17 weeks.
  • Classroom/workshop delivery at Ashmore with structured workplace learning.
  • On the first day of class students should meet at Customer Service, E Block.
