A career in the great outdoors

Apprenticeship delivery only.

In a sun-kissed country like Australia, backyards have become a roofless extension of the living room. A career in Landscape Construction will see you helping people make the most of their patch of dirt by creating attractive, functional and highly liveable outdoor spaces. Our Certificate III in Landscape Construction will hone your horticulture and construction skills and teach you how to build and repair water features, fences, decks and patios as well as construct driveways, paths and retaining walls.

Topics covered will include any combination of the following:

  • Install landscape structures including brick, masonry, pavers and timber structures
  • Supervise landscape teams
  • Advise on plant selection
  • Supervise on-site
  • Soil testing
  • Plant techniques and turf installation
  • Environmental practices, estimating and costing, soil characteristics, surveying, levelling and weed control.

Please note that TAFE Queensland Gold Coast are flexible with the unit selection and are prepared to work with employers and apprentices to tailor a training plan that suits on-the-job tasks. Course details
