Resources required

  • Steel capped boots, safety glasses, gloves and helmet are basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and should be provided by the student ensuring appropriate hygiene.
  • Chaps/safety pants can be provided upon request.
  • When undertaking outdoor practical components students are to ensure that they bring sun protection i.e. hat, sunscreen, long sleeved shirt.
  • Please bring a notepad and pen.

Timetable

This course is designed to be delivered via classroom based learning also incorporating  outdoor practical components.  Students will gain hands on experience with operating chainsaws along with gaining knowledge on how to fell small trees.  The practical component of the course is held outdoors weather permitting.  In the case of bad weather the duration of the course could be extended beyond the anticipated completion date.

This program is delivered on three Friday's from 8:00am-3.30pm at Ashmore. (Students must attend all three Friday's).
