Calling creative people - this introductory course is for those with a desire to enter the floristry industry, or the hobbyist, giving a basic introduction to the flowers, accessories, designs and tools needed to successfully create beautiful floral designs.
You will explore different ways to arrange flowers and create designs for your home or gifts for your friends and family. You will be amazed at your creativity when you are shown the principles by an expert in the industry. For those with a real passion for working in the wonderful world of floristry participants will be advised on pathways to formal qualifications.
This course will extend those with a basic understanding of flowers, plant material and design concepts. You will explore your creativity and incorporate other mediums to enhance your designs getting inspiration from the endless textures, colours and contrasts from the world we live in. Students will make two floral arrangements per class.
Lesson 1 - Single wrapped flower, gift presentation box, single flower in foam
Lesson 2 - Boxed arrangements
Lesson 3 - Strauss bouquets and hand tied
Lesson 4 - Asymmetrical arrangements
Lesson 5 - Buttonholes and corsages
Lesson 6 - Modern arrangement
This short course is non-accredited therefore is not registered with the National Training Register. Course details

Set yourself on the fast track to success
Sue is shaping up to be the Gold Coast's next big thing in fashion after she won the ‘Outstanding Use Of Material' category at the 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane. Continuing on from that success, Sue was also part of the duo who designed the Gold Coast light rail's staff uniform, now worn by drivers, line officers as well as maintenance and operational workers.
