Entry requirements

  • Students must have access to a suitable work environment to undertake practical tasks.  For further information please contact janelle.schloss@tafe.qld.edu.au or phone her on 0403 756 921.  Examples of a suitable practice environment include schools, transition and pathway programs, Jobactive providers, Group Training company, private career counselling practice or in a HR department.
  • Assessors will not be visiting the workplace, students are required to provide various pieces of video evidence throughout the course. This is the preferred option. If that is not possible, students will be required to provide their video evidence via a simulated work environment.
  • This course has additional entry requirements if you wish to take advantage of the subsidised Higher Level Skills (HLS) funding option. You must be currently work in the Community Services Industry, and supply a current payslip as evidence, as well as meet all other subsidy eligibility.  The Community Services Industry work that is acceptable are roles where workers provide programs and services to individuals, groups of clients and employers to support them in planning their career and/or locating, securing and maintaining suitable employment. They may work in career information and transition services or assist in career advisor roles in education, training, school or transition work environments. They may have limited supervisory responsibilities in contexts such as employment services.  Volunteer work is not acceptable.

Recognition of Prior Learning is available only to those with recent experience in a 'practice' environment as outlined above and who can provide relevant evidence of having the essential skills and knowledge required of the qualification.  For RPL enquiries please contact the RPL Team at rplcoordinator.goldcoast@tafe.qld.edu.au.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland Gold Coast's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player.

This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.
