Local education produces global recognition

Winning the gold medal at the National Worldskills Competition last year was a huge honour for me. I am extremely grateful for my TAFE Gold Coast teachers who will continue to mentor me leading into the International Worldskills Competition to be held in Brazil later this year. The positive experience I have had completing my course, is a life long experience that I have shared and would recommend to anyone considering securing a role within the automotive trades industry.

Many TAFE Queensland Gold Coast apprenticeships now offer the option of more on-the-job training and therefore less time spent attending TAFE.  Wherever this is the case a TAFE Queensland Gold Coast teacher is assigned to attend your workplace to deliver training and assess your skills and knowledge.

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast has structured training for various course competencies that are not practised regularly in the workplace so many employers may still choose to send their apprentice to TAFE to learn those skills, however, this is done by negotiation between the employer and the TAFE Queensland Gold Coast teacher.

The approved hours for an individual apprentice will vary according to the units of competency specified in their individual training plan.
