Get a handle on food safety planning

Our food safety supervisor course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to hold a food safety supervisor certificate. This certificate is a basic requirement to oversee the safe production and service of food.

You will learn how to use hygienic practices for food safety and participate in safe food handling practices. This course applies to anyone who handles food including cooks, chefs, caterers, kitchen stewards, kitchen hands, and bar, food and beverage attendants.

Every food related business in Queensland is required by law to have one certified food safety supervisor. Successful completion of this course will allow you to work as a food safety supervisor in a variety of hospitality settings. Course details

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland Gold Coast's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player.

This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Timetable

This course is held for two days on Friday from 8.00am-12.15pm at Southport, Level 4, Room 404.

Assessment methods and tools include: written tasks, multiple choice knowledge quiz, short answer worksheets and the uploading of a practical skills demonstration in the workplace.
