TAFE Queensland - Gold Coast Region in partnership with CSQ is offering financial and professional support to the Queensland Building and Construction Industry.

Who is Construction Skills Queensland?

Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent industry funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices and career seekers in the Building and Construction Industry. CSQ believes that a successful industry relies on a combination of world class capability and access to the best knowledge.

I started the Trade Start program in early February 2016 and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to try it out. I had always been interested in doing carpentry, but needed to be sure that it was what I really wanted to do before committing to a four year apprenticeship. The Trade Start program was a total kick start for me. I was provided with all the gear I needed and was given a good mixture between theory and practical experience. I have since managed to secure a position with Gold Coast City Council as an apprentice carpenter. I would highly recommend the course to anyone thinking about it.

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast was very easy to deal with and I found the trainer extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Mick was able to come to site where appropriate and made sure that the dates and times we chose for any assessment and gap training could fit in around my work hours.

Together, HIA and TAFE Queensland Gold Coast have been providing a high level of engagement with local employers, both major and medium sized building companies, actively involved in the residential housing industry. In our view, TAFE Queensland Gold Coast provides quality programs which directly assist and target the up-skilling of our local trade and employee workforce. TAFE Queensland Gold Coast is the RTO of choice we recommend to prospective workers who require extensive training for entry into the building industry.

Executive Director Gold Coast & Northern Rivers, Housing Industries Australia (HIA)

The overall learning experience was great and I was able to get together all the required evidence and then had to undertake a small amount of gap training which was also quite helpful. As a TAFE they operate very well and get the job done. I would highly recommend this process to any of my colleagues and or other people within the construction field who need a certificate and have the skills and knowledge.
